ICT Trainer

We are currently recruiting for an ICT Trainer to join Horton Housing Association on a permanent basis. This role sits within the Learning and Development Team, but will work closely with our ICT team. The working hours for this role are 28 per week, which can be worked flexibly, but must include a Monday.

The role

This is a new role created in response to our growing reliance on IT and the need for all colleagues to use different software packages. Our colleagues tell us they would like more support and training in using these software packages.

You will need to work closely with both our Learning & Development department and our ICT department as well as managers, Heads of Service and other colleagues from across the organisation.

The role will include meeting new colleagues on their first day of work and delivering their ICT equipment and providing an induction on how to use it. You will also undertake a skills assessment with new starters, to identify any training needs they may have.

You will also provide one to one in person training to individual colleagues as well as in person training to small groups in the use of IT/software. Our colleagues appreciate it when training is delivered in their place of work (where this is possible). The role will therefore involve travelling to our different schemes located across Braford, Kirklees, Calderdale and North Yorkshire as well as working from our Learning & Development Department in Bradford. Reasonable travel costs will be reimbursed.

What we are looking for

• An excellent working knowledge of systems such as Microsoft, Teams and SharePoint and a Microsoft Office Specialist qualification in either Office 2019 or (preferably) 365 Apps
• A training qualification such as a Level 3 in Education and Training (or equivalent) or willing to undertake such a qualification
• An excellent understanding of cyber security and the importance of safeguarding data
• Ability to quickly learn how to use new software systems
• Experience in training people to use new software systems, including on a one to one basis or in small groups
• Patience and understanding when teaching non-technical colleagues on new systems
• A willingness to work with a wide range of different people from across the organisation
• Ability to plan your own workload and work on your own initiative
• Ability to work with both the Learning and Development team and the ICT team to plan training and resources  in order to future proof the ICT needs of the organisation
• Understanding of GDPR compliance responsibilities
• An awareness of safeguarding and risk management
• The ability to work as part of small team

What Horton offers in return?
